Website Development

Website Development Code

"Website Development" refers to every non-design aspect of creating websites, including programming ("coding") and writing markup. Web development can range from developing the simplest single page of plain, static text to the most complex and dynamic web-based internet applications or social networking sites. Please visit my pages on website design if you are interested in information about my website design services, philosophy or procedures.

Web Development Philosophy

Philo•sophy - a system of principles for guidance in practical affairs.

I believe in creating websites in accordance with website standards. I make sure to stay current with technology and utilize the most backward and forward compatible methods of programming.

I also believe in using the right tool for the job. There is practically always more than one way to program anything, and I believe it is my job to know the possibilities, each of their strengths and weakness, and to understand which technology should be used when. You would probably be surprised at how many website developers are happy just to find one way that works (and how easy it is too notice).

I stand by my website development procedures, and can promise every client that their websites are programmed to load as fast as possible, be compatible across the widest range of web browsers and operating systems and be as accessible as possible to users as well as search engines.

Each website I develop is tested in every common computer configuration; Windows, MacOS, Linux - Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0, Firefox 2 & 3, Safari, Opera, and now Chrome.

Web Development Services

Website development services offered by Bjorn Enki

I am proud to provide a wide range of the fastest, most functional, compatible, uniform, and search engine friendly website development techniques possible - internationally, with a primary focus on the greater Los Angeles area.

My website development techniques include (X)HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX and Flash. In layman's terms, I can handle practically anything related to static website elements, the appearance of a website, dynamically generated server-side websites, database driven/enhanced websites, client-side dynamic websites, websites with interactive "Web 2.0" style functionality, and high-quality animations.

My clients can also rest assured that their website will be completely free of glitches, inconsistencies, or any other problems that may arise related to the function of their website. Each proposal I send out includes a guarantee that, should a problem ever arise with the websites I develop, I will fix the problem as soon as possible and completely free of charge.

The way a website is programmed is crucial to a web site's popularity, function and performance. The technologies and programming used to develop a website ultimately determine how visible the website is on search engines, how the website will appear and function on the wide range of computer configurations that will be accessing it, how fast the website will operate, how much time (money) the website will take update, and how well it will function overall.

Web Development Procedure

My website development process

A great deal of thought goes into the planning and programming of a website once my proposal is approved and before I jump into actually creating a website.

I never use HTML authoring tools, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors, or any other automated methods of generating website code. Every line of programming in the websites I develop is hand written by me to ensure that it functions and appears as intended; in the most cross-compatible way possible.

How and when a website will need to be updated, which features or functions the website will perform and the web site's general demographic all influence my decisions on which technologies to utilize for any given website.

I may employ anything from plain HTML and CSS to a complete range of HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL/JavaSript/AJAX/Flash technologies. Of course, clients sometimes have their own suggestions for certain technologies. However, I have learned that clients often request a technology (especially Flash) due to their associations with it rather than its actual capabilities, benefits, or applicability. In any case, after consulting with clients regarding their website plans and goals, I will ensure that the technology best suited for its purpose is used.
