Custom Web Design Services
Although commonly used as a collective term for designing, programming & otherwise creating websites, I use term "website design" to refer to the actual design process of creating a website. Please visit my pages on website development if you are interested in information about my website development services, philosophy or procedures.
Web Design Philosophy
Philo•sophy - a system of principles for guidance in practical affairs.
I aim to create attractive, appealing website designs that match my clients' needs as well as their target audience without excessive load times or unnecessary "bells and whistles"
I never use templates to quickly create a website design - I create custom and unique website designs that are fitting to my clients and their target market.
I acknowledge and appreciate the fact that users with wide ranges of preferences visit the websites I design, and as such my designs do not require a specific browser or monitor size in order to appear as intended, and are tested on every common computer configuration, browser and connection speed.
I ensure that the websites I design are easy to navigate, that site visitors find the content for which they are looking, and that content, navigational items or links are placed where users have learned to expect them.
I will not "throw off" the appearance of my website designs with keyword stuffing or excessive links in unsuccessful attempts to "Search Optimize" the websites I design. The days of filling a page with keywords, META tags for search terms, and most other easily manipulatable "Optimization" tactics are long gone any way.
Web Design Services
Website design services offered by Bjorn Enki
I am proud to provide custom, unique and captivating website designs internationally, with a primary focus on the greater Los Angeles area.
My website design services include original website designs, website redesigns for existing websites, as well as supporting graphics and Flash animation.
If my clients are not perfectly happy with my designs, I take it upon myself to modify them. All of my designs come with up to 3 rounds of design modifications at no additional cost.
A website is the first introduction many potential customers or clients will have to a company, so it's imperative to convey the right message - and quick. Research shows that the average user actually spends only four seconds determining whether the website or web page they landed on is right for their needs. A website should complement rather than contradict the attitude of a business as well as any off-line promotional materials, helping establish a brand and build customer and client interest, trust, and confidence.
Web Design Procedure
How I go about designing a website
I start by consulting with my clients. Whether they have design ideas already established and prepared, sample websites illustrating design concepts they like, are not quite sure what they want, or only know what they want when they see it, in order to ensure complete customer satisfaction I must first know what my customers want.
I am then prepared to conduct any applicable research. I research industry related websites and related content to ensure the design is appropriate and able to impress the right audience and convey professionalism and understanding in my clients' websites.
Then, I manually create my supporting graphics and/or animations to ensure the most widely compatible, functional and fast loading web pages possible. I do not use any automated software or technologies for graphics - every aspect of my website design process is performed to load in the fastest, most efficient and appealing way possible.
I then upload the first design draft to my website for client review, allowing my clients to guide us through the design process as I go along - ensuring utmost customer satisfaction. All of my clients receive up to 3 free design alterations where I adjust the design to match their desires.
Once I have my clients approval on the initial design concept of the website, I continue designing and developing the website - implementing page content, forms, database integration or any other desired website functionality. My clients have the opportunity to review the entire design process as I go along.
Only once completely satisfied with the entire appearance or "look and feel" of your new website design do I upload the website to my client's domain, making it "live".
- VivaLift highlights: custom design 1min. 5sec.

VivaLift's custom designed & developed website…
…features their main three products animated on the home page…
…followed by their product (a powder that is mixed with water to form an energy drink) pouring into a bottle…
…and animated bubbles throughout the site in their header, which was based upon the colors and box of their main flavor…
…VivaLift was looking for a custom, fresh, appetizing and modern new look for their old website…
…bright colors, fruit, bubbles, and animation help achieve this…
…VivaLift's three products and the fruit that makes up their flavors…
…custom pop-up menus also contribute to the unique feel of the website…
- Ergonomics Simplified highlights: custom design & development 5min. 20sec.

Ergonomics Simplified's custom designed & developed website…
…features a header and menus that may all be hidden, freeing up more room for users to take their custom interactive evaluation, read pages or browse the site…
…the "my body hurts" page provides breif overviews of common pains along with their usual causes and solutions…
…where users can get basic information on an area of pain in a simple and interactive way…
…every page in the custom web site adapts to the dynamic menu…
…the keyboards page features a helpful "keyboard chooser" that allows users to easily pick the right ergonomic keyboard for their specific needs…
…introducing the custom content management system, if we choose to "edit a product", then select a keyboard…
…we can see how that keyboard is set to appear on the "keyboard chooser", depending on its specific features…
…as well as the text for the keyboards page, it's prices, product images & descriptions, item numbers & product variations…
…and finally, three "related products" that are selected from a list of all products in the system…
…the chairs page also offers a similar "chooser", only a bit more sophisticated…
…back in the content management system, we can dynamically control the assignment of any chairs to represent a budget, area(s) of pain, and weight in the "chair chooser"…
…and even select a chair, once assigned, to further configure default options that their recommendation should come with…
…offering a fully dynamic, self-manageable system for Ergonomics Simplified to keep their website up to date…
…clicking on a recommended chair takes the user to the chair's page, where they can choose their desired fabric…
…review or make changes to the recommended options for the chair, and add the chair to their cart…
…in our shopping cart we can see the chair we added, along with it's customizations…
…product images are automatically scaled and cropped to create a thumbnail when added to the system…
…finally, let's take a look at the "interactive evaluation" …
…consisting of 26 guided steps (I'm on step 4 here), users make selections depending on their specific work environment, areas of pain, etc…
…in a straight-forward and intuitive way…
…once finished, the user is presented with a list of all their risk or problem areas, along with various solutions…
…and a list of customized product recommendations that go along with the problems and solutions on the left (also assigned through the content management system)…
…this information is all saved to the users account for later reference, to make purchases, or changes…
- Momentous Insurance highlights: custom development 4min. 5sec.
-
The Momentous Insurance Brokerage custom website…
…features an announcement that pops up automatically to first-time viewers. Once minimized, it will remain hidden until it changes or is manually toggled…
…changes to the announcement may be made easily through the website's custom content management system (CMS)…
…it can say anything they want, contain links, graphics, etc., and features a wide range of styling options similar to those found in common word processors…
…as we can see, any changes will be in effect upon the next page load - ready for anyone who hasn't seen the new version yet, or to those who have, by toggling…
…we can even choose not to show the announcement at all for now, saving its contents in the CMS for a later time…
…certain page elements can be set to start collapsed, making pages smaller initially and easier to browse through…
…all but few aspects of the custom website are manageable - most of the pages and even categories here have been added, edited, sorted or removed by Momentous…
…sorting a page in their content management system is easy - we just choose "Sort Pages", and pick the category we wish to modify…
…as we can see in the corresponding section on the public page (as well as in the CMS), the "Company Overview" page is on top…
…and we can move this page anywhere in the list just by clicking on the corresponding arrows…
…as with all other changes, the page's new position will be reflected upon the next page load…
…we can, of course, also change it back…
…now let's try adding a new page to the site, which shouldn't be too much harder…
…first we create a page in the system to work with - it will start off hidden from the public, allowing time to create its contents…
…as we can see here, the contact section currently only has one page (and thus no pages in the list)…
…but once we un-hide the new page, and enter some text for it…
…we can see that the old page has been added to the contact category page list, as well as our newly created page…
