Website Design / Development Proposal & Quote
Tuesday 13th of May 2008Bjorn Enki is pleased to submit a proposal for the development of a website to _______________, referred to in this proposal and contract as “Client”. The terms of this proposal are valid for thirty (30) days.
Services
Bjorn Enki will provide the following services during the development of the website:
- Establish which key words and terms to focus on for the website, based upon a list of words provided by the client combined with research on Bjorn Enki’s part.
- Create a ~25 page website that;
- is designed based upon graphics provided by client to be somewhat flashy and design intensive, meeting all of the client’s goals in terms of appearance and usability
- is developed completely search engine friendly & compatible
- contains a "splash page" animation which fades into the home page upon completion
- contains a portfolio with aproximately 40 images, and transitions appear when switching between portfolio items
- features a content management system, allowing the website administrator to very easily edit or expand the website's portfolio
- features a paypal compatible shopping cart where users may purchase from between aproximately 10 items
- contains a contact form where users may easily submit questions, comments, or requests, even without an email address
- features a blog and forum
- Run speed tests ensuring fastest possible load times on all web pages.
- Check each web page for spelling, design, and coding issues, ensuring web standards compliance.
- Run browser and platform checks ensuring optimum compatibility.
- Upload website to clients' host and transfer ownership of site to client.
Conditions
Bjorn Enki has based the cost quote on the Services described, and the following assumptions:
- The client will provide all of the text content and images to be used in the site.
- After explaining client's desires, the client may request revisions of the website’s overall design and appearance until the website completely matches the clients' expectations.
- Upon completion of the website and ownership transfer, Bjorn Enki will be allowed to add the website to his online portfolio, including a brief description, as well as be allowed a short text link on each page of the clients website, in a manner agreed upon between Bjorn and client.
Exclusions
This proposal does not cover:
- HTML instruction, Computer instruction, Website design/development instruction.
- Any off-site search engine optimization, meaning any aspects of SEO that are not contained within the website itself. (for example obtaining links from other websites)
Schedule
This schedule defines the major tasks to be completed during the life of the project. Individual tasks may be added, deleted or moved as required to meet the demands of the project. The elapsed times are estimates and may vary slightly depending on workload, client requests for alterations, and third-party service providers.
Phase 1
- Proposal / Contact review
- Proposal / Contract signing
- Initial Payment – 20% of total cost
Phase 2 (12 business days)

- Client Approval
- Progress Payment – 50% of total cost
Phase 3 (2 business days)
- Check each web page for code, spelling, and design issues, and ensuring W3C web standards compliance.
- Run speed tests ensuring fastest possible load times on all web pages.
- Run Browser and Platform Checks ensuring cross-compatibility.
- Upload website to clients' host and transfer ownership of site to client.
- Final payment – 30% of total cost
Development Fees
Website Development with on-site SEO $2,400
Total $2,400
Payment is to be made in three installments of $480, $1200, and $720 per the above schedule.
Website Maintenance, Updates, & additions.
Bjorn Enki will provide free website maintenance and support covering any aspect of the website covered in this proposal which are not functioning properly or optimally. Additions, modifications, or alterations not covered in this website development proposal may be provided for an additional charge when requested by the client.
